SAP Landscape Management 3.0, Enterprise Edition

Generate and Add System/UUID

Generating and Adding System/UUID

You want to manage multiple systems with the same SID, SAPLOCALHOST and instance numbers within a landscape. Therefore you use this process to check and if required generate and add an Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) parameter to the DEFALUT.PFL profile, restart all SAP instance agents and retrieve the UUID from the instance agent for the SAP Landscape Management configuration.

Prerequisites

  • At least one instance assigned to the system does not have a UUID assigned.

  • You have permission CustomProcess(Execute).

For more information, see Standard Permissions.

Context

If you have multiple systems sharing the same SID, SAPLOCALHOST, and instance numbers, for example if you clone a system, SAP Landscape Management verifies the system/UUID parameter against its configuration. To ensure that the operation is executed on the correct instance, SAP Landscape Management verifies the parameter prior to any operation such as start, stop, or relocate.

Procedure

  1. Choose Operations.
  2. Choose Systems from the tabs.
  3. From the Operations dropdown, choose Start of the navigation pathOthers Next navigation step Generate and Add System/UUIDEnd of the navigation path.

All steps included in the process are displayed in a graphical form.

  4. Choose Execute.
