To control the availability of custom processes, custom operations, and custom hooks, you use constraints. Constraints define on which instances, hosts, or virtual hosts a custom process, custom hook, or custom operation is executed.

You can create one or several constraints for a custom process, custom operation, or custom hook. Custom hooks for custom operations allow static and dynamic constraints. Dynamic constraints for custom hooks are checked before the custom hook is executed. If this check is not successful, the custom hook will be skipped. Custom hooks for SAP Landscape Management operations only allow static constraints.

The assigned host is the host on which the instances are currently running.
