Saving Activities as Provisioning Blueprints

You save an activity as provisioning blueprint to parameterize and reuse this activity several times and execute the provisioning blueprint without navigating through a provisioning workflow.

Prerequisites

  • You have assigned the roles and groups required to perform the operation.

For more information, see Standard Roles and Groups.

  • You have permission Blueprint(Manage).

For more information, see Standard Permissions.

  • You know the constraints that you want to use for the provisioning blueprint.

    For more information, see Constraints.

  • You know the placeholders and value types that you can use to parameterize provisioning blueprints.

    • Custom placeholders

Individual placeholders, for which the values have to be entered before executing the provisioning blueprint.

    • Internal placeholders

      For more information, see Placeholders.

Procedure

  1. Choose Provisioning.
  2. Navigate through the provisioning process by following the instructions on the screen.

All parameters changed during the provisioning process will be grouped under Changed parameters in the provisioning blueprint.

  3. On the summary screen, choose Create Provisioning Blueprint.
  4. Enter a name for the blueprint.
  5. Enter a description to provide more information about the provisioning blueprint.
  6. Define the group for the provisioning blueprint. You have the following options:
    • Choose an existing group.
    • Enter a name, to create a new group.
  7. Optional: To edit or view the parameters, choose the Parameters tab.
The provisioning blueprint contains all default parameters and activity steps of the process. By default, Changed parameters are selected and with that all the parameters that have been changed while navigating through the provisioning workflow are captured for the provisioning blueprint. All parameters of a provisioning blueprint are stored and displayed unencrypted.

    You have the following options:

    • Parameterize sensitive data as secure input parameters

    • Hardcode sensitive data within a secure custom property and reference the custom property within the provisioning blueprint

  8. Optional: To capture all parameters available for the provisioning workflow, choose All parameters.

The number of Changed parameters is usually very low, compared to the number of All parameters. This is because most of the parameters are generated by default and have not been changed.

  9. Choose Save Provisioning Blueprint.

The blueprint created is now available under Start of the navigation pathAutomation Studio Next navigation step Provisioning BlueprintsEnd of the navigation path.
