Creating Menu Items

You create menu items, to view external applications or files within the SAP Landscape Management application.

Prerequisites

  • You must have fully qualified URLs and file locations.

  • The URL or the shared location can be displayed within an iframe.

    Ensure that a frame killer does not prevent the URL from being displayed within an iframe.

Context

Custom menu items allow you to minimize the number of browser windows that you need to navigate for reference while performing operations in SAP Landscape Management, and hence simplifies the working experience with SAP Landscape Management. You can specify the SAP Landscape Management section under which you want the custom entry to be available.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathUI Customizations Next navigation step Menu ItemsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Create.
  3. Enter the name for the menu item.
    You cannot have the same name for two different menu items in one target screen.
  4. Specify the fully qualified URL or a shared location. You have the following options:
    Option URL

    Link

    Enter https://<full path of the location>.

    Relative Links

    Enter /<relative path of the location>.

    Shared Folders

    Enter ftp://<full path of the location>.

  5. Optional: Enter a description which will be shown as a tool tip for the menu item.
  6. Select the target screen.
  7. Select the Enable Menu Item checkbox to view the menu item in the specified target section.
  8. Choose Create Menu Item.
