Configuring Archive Log Settings

You enable log archiving to work with SAP Landscape Management logs.

Prerequisites

When using an ABAP system or LDAP as the backend for user management, use a local user of the SAP NetWeaver Java engine to perform the configuration. Otherwise, the jobs stop working if the user backend is unavailable.
You have the authorization to work with logs.

Provide the following information:

Option	Description
Enable Log Archiving	To enable log archiving, select this checkbox.
Enable Automatic Log Archiving	To trigger an asynchronous background task to perform log archiving, select this checkbox. The task is triggered either monthly or yearly based on your selection for Periodic Archiving.
Archive Logs Older Than [days]	To archive all log headers and dependent log details of both operation and change logs older than a specified number of days, enter a number of days from 1 to 500. The default value is 30 days. Example If you choose to archive logs older than 10 days and if the asynchronous background task for monthly periodic archiving is triggered on 01-MAY-2011 00:00 AM, then logs prior to 21-APR-2011 00:00 AM will be archived.
Archive Log Path	Note Archived log files are not encrypted. Grant access to the folder specified to authorized people only. To store the archived files, enter a path for the folder. Example Unix: /`<archive>` Windows: \`<archive>`
Enable Deletion of Logs Without Archiving	To delete logs manually without archiving, select this checkbox.
