Maintaining Systems Near Zero Downtime
You clone a system near zero downtime (nZDM) to apply Support Packages with a reduced business downtime.
Prerequisites

The general prerequisites for provisioning systems have been met.

The source system is adaptively installed on central storage with virtual host names.

You have prepared the system as described in the users guide for near-Zero Downtime Maintenance Java.

You can log on to the source system.

The system can be used for cloning nZDM. You have configured the following:

The monitoring screen appears, where you can view the log of all tasks involved in the process.
The process will stop twice to perform the following manual activities in the nZDM UI:

To record the data on the source system, perform the following manual activities:

Configure the nZDM recorder

Start the recording
The SAP Landscape Management software creates a clone and fences the cloned system off from the remaining network.

To replicate all changes that have been recorded on the source system to the target system, perform the following manual activities:

Start the replication on the target system

Finish the nZDM procedure

SAP Landscape Management finally promotes the cloned system to become the new productive system.
