Configuring Diagnostics Agent Installations and Uninstallations
You configure Diagnostics Agent installations and uninstallations if you want to add Diagnostics Agents to an existing SAP system in the SAP Landscape Management landscape.
Prerequisites

You have prepared the installation media.

You have familiarized yourself with the information in SAP Note 1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager.

You want to install the Diagnostics Agent on a physical host as an Agent On-the-fly.
For more information, see the attachment AgentInstallationStrategy.zip of SAP Note 1365123 .

SAP Landscape Management supports the system on which you want to install the Diagnostics Agent.

Optional: You have created a repository.
For more information, see Creating Diagnostics Agent Repositories.

Permissions for the remote deployment of new SAP Host Agent operations, or permissions to patch existing operations, are available on the installation host.

The ASUIOperation is available on the source system and the target system.

If the operating system of the installation host is UNIX:

The directories /tmp/LVM_sapinst and /tmp/LVM_sapinst_PR have executable rights.

User sapadm is a member of group sapinst.

Optional: You have set the profile parameters to /service/logfile_000=/tmp/LVM_sapinst and /service/logfile_001=/tmp/LVM_sapinst_PR to allow SAP Host Agent to read the log files contained in the following folders:

Context
In general, you will need one Diagnostics Agent on each host that has to be managed. If the systems to be managed have been set up using logical host names, you must have one Diagnostics Agent instance for each logical host. The Diagnostics Agent has a kernel of its own, which is completely independent of the kernel of the managed systems available on the host where the Diagnostics Agent is installed.
