Activating Virtual Elements

You activate virtual elements.

Prerequisites

You have permission VirtualResource(Activate,DeactivateSoft,DeactivateHard,Suspend,Migrate,Reboot,Resize).

For more information, see Standard Permissions.
The virtual elememt status is Unavailable or Suspended.

Procedure

Choose Operations.
Choose Cloud or Virtualization from the tabs.
From the Operations dropdown of the virtual element, choose Activate.

To activate a set of virtual elements, choose Mass Operations Activate and ensure that the entities on which you want to execute the operation are displayed and selected.
Optional: Select the Set Note checkbox and enter a note to be displayed in the Information column of the virtual element.
Choose Execute.

Results

If status was Unavailable:
1. The virtual host switches to powered-on state.
2. Starts the operating system (OS).
If status was Suspended:
1. Selects the previous virtual host provider or OS resource pool.
2. Reads the previously saved RAM from persistent memory.
3. Resumes the virtual host.
