Configuring General Instance Properties

You configure the general instance properties in terms of managed and operational instances and specify the instance type and the source instance.

Procedure

Choose Configuration Systems.
Select the instance you want to configure.

Example
Central instance, database instance, dialog instance, TREX instance, liveCache, custom instance
On the Instance Details tab, choose Edit.

Provide the following information:

Option	Description
Managed	To include the instance in the landscape, select this checkbox.
Operational	To make the instance available for performing operations, select this checkbox.
Type	Check the type of the instance, and if required change the instance type proposed. Note You can discover and monitor SAP HANA options but you cannot start or stop instances assigned to SAP HANA option types. For more information, see SAP Note 2561064 .
Source Instance	Only applicable for copied systems. Assign the corresponding source instance. Note Do not select the same source instance for different instances in the target system.
