Moving a Tenant Database Near Zero Downtime
You can move SAP HANA tenant databases from one SAP HANA system to another with near-zero downtime. After a move, the original tenant database is deleted and the new tenant database takes over.
Prerequisites

The general prerequisites for instance operations have been met.

You comply with all prerequisites described in the Operations Guide for SAP HANA Tenant Databases.

You have assigned at least the first master host, dedicated for the tenant.

You have retrieved the SAP HANA MDC instance version during instance configuration.

Optional: You have specified the source and target system user credentials during instance configuration.

Optional: If the system is configured for high isolation, you know the operating system user and operating system group.

The tenant database is assigned to an ABAP system and the system status is Running.

You have configured remote function call destinations.

Using SAP HANA system replication mechanisms, SAP HANA tenant databases can be copied and moved securely and conveniently from one SAP HANA system to another. This allows you to respond flexibly to changing resource requirements and to manage your system landscape efficiently.
