Enable Stand-By Mode

You put your SAP Landscape Management in stand-by mode.

Context

You enable a stand-by SAP Landscape Management for example to keep an SAP Landscape Management in sync with another. If stand-by mode is enabled, the load on the managed landscape does not increase due to duplicated monitoring calls. In addition, you avoid executing operations on the stand-by by accident.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathSetup Next navigation step SettingsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Expert Mode.
  3. On the Synchronization/Standby tab, choose Edit.
  4. Select the Enable Standby Mode checkbox.
  5. Specify the background jobs you want to stop.
  6. By default, the following message is preconfigured: Standby mode is active. The following jobs were stopped:<Selected jobs>. You can specify an individual message to be displayed if required.
  7. Save your entries.
  8. Refresh your browser window.

Results

  • The Standby Mode is indicated in the header area of the UI.

  • The stand-by mode message is displayed.
