Creating Custom Properties

You configure custom properties to centralize configurable and secure properties within SAP Landscape Management.

Context

The custom properties are passed to any custom provisioning process, custom operation, or custom hook that is executed on an instance or host.

Procedure

Choose Configuration Extensions Custom Properties.
Choose Create.
Enter a name for the custom property.
Caution
If you enter the same name for different custom property values, the values that you configure here are overwritten. The order of precedence is as follows:
1. Custom property values for instances
2. Custom property values for systems
3. Custom property values for hosts
4. Custom property values for pools
5. Custom property values for pool container
6. General custom property values
The name that you enter is available to the custom operations and custom hooks with the prefix PROP-<Property Name>.
Enter the value for the custom property.
Optional: To store the values in the secure store, select the Secure checkbox.

The values are not visible in the SAP Landscape Management logs.

All secure values are passed together in a single parameter called LVM_SEC_PARAMS as PROP-<property name>=<property value>.

Each value is passed in a new line along with the secure customer parameters.
Choose Create Property.

Results

The configured custom properties are passed to any custom provisioning process, custom operation, or custom hook that is executed on an instance or host.

For custom instances, the parameters are also passed to the start, stop, attach, and detach operations.
