Configuring Database Manager Credentials

You configure the database manager credentials for monitoring and performing operations on tenants, single SAP HANA databases, or tenant nodes.

Prerequisites

  • You want to monitor tenants, single SAP HANA databases, or tenant nodes.

  • You want to perform operations on tenants, single SAP HANA databases, or tenant nodes.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathConfiguration Next navigation step SystemsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Select the database instance you want to configure.
  3. On the Instance Details tab, choose Edit.
  4. Provide the following credentials:
    Option Description

    Manager User Name

    Enter the user name of the database manager.

    Manager Password

    Enter the password of the database manager.

    Timeout [seconds]

    If required, adapt the timeout in seconds when connecting to SAP Host Agent or the instance agent.

  5. Choose Test DB Manager Credentials.
  6. Save your entries.

To monitor tenants, single tenants, single SAP HANA databases, or tenant nodes, ensure that the database manager user has monitoring permissions.

For SAP HANA multi database systems, ensure that the database manager user has permissions to start and stop a tenant.
