Configuring Application Server Installations and Uninstallations
You configure application server installations and uninstallations if you want to add application servers (AS) to an existing SAP system in the SAP Landscape Management landscape on an on-demand basis.
Prerequisites
-
You have prepared the installation media. You have the DVDs for InstMaster and kernel.
For more information, see Preparing System Provisioning Media.
-
You have familiarized yourself with the information in SAP Note 1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager.
-
Optional: You have created a repository.
For more information, see Creating SAP Adaptive Extensions Repositories on UNIX.
-
The profiles and global directories of the system on which you want to install the AS are available on the installation host, for example /sapmnt/<sid> on UNIX.
If you install the AS as adaptive-enabled, the profile and the global directory can also be part of the mount points, which are mounted by SAP Landscape Management before the installation.
-
SAP Landscape Management supports the system on which you want to install the AS.
-
Permissions for the remote deployment of new SAP Host Agent operations or permissions to patch existing operations are available on the installation host.
-
The ASUIOperation is available on the source system and the target system.
-
If the operating system of the installation host is UNIX:
-
The directories /tmp/LVM_sapinst and /tmp/LVM_sapinst_PR have executable rights.
-
User sapadm is a member of group sapinst.
-
-
Optional: You have set the profile parameters to /service/logfile_000=/tmp/LVM_sapinst and /service/logfile_001=/tmp/LVM_sapinst_PR to allow SAP Host Agent to read the log files contained in the following folders:
-
On UNIX:
- /tmp/LVM_sapinst
- /tmp/LVM_sapinst_PR
-
On Windows:
- c:\temp\LVM_sapinst
- c:\temp\LVM_sapinst_PR
