Configuring Networks
Networks run instances on hosts. You configure a network to group the landscape entities logically and separate them physically.

If there is already a network in the landscape, the Instances and Hosts columns display the number of instances and hosts already assigned to the network.

Basic Configuration step

Name
Enter the name used to identify the network for the virtual environment.
Subnet Mask
Enter the subnet mask used for the network being configured.
Broadcast Address
Enter the broadcast address for the network being configured.

Advanced Configuration step
To create new domain name system (DNS) entries, provide the following information:

Gateway Server
Enter the IP address or the server name for the gateway server of the network.
DNS Zone
Enter this value only if it is not the same as the domain name.
Reverse DNS Zone
Enter this value only if it is not the standard reverse DNS zone.
Update IP Range
Enter the IP range to be used within this network to provision new host names.
