Executing Operations on Instances with an SAP Solution Manager System Assigned to Them
You perform operations on systems that have an SAP Solution Manager system assigned to them.
Prerequisites
-
The general prerequisites for instance operations have been met.
For more information, see General Prerequisites for Instance Operations.
-
You have assigned an SAP Solution Manager system to the system.
For more information, see Assigning SAP Solution Manager Systems to Managed Systems.
-
You have registered the managed system in SAP Landscape Management.
-
The version of the assigned SAP Solution Manager system is SAP Solution Manager 7.1 support package stack 10 or higher.
Context
When you want to perform an operation on a managed system which is assigned to an SAP Solution Manager system, SAP Landscape Management checks if that system has a work mode that conflicts with your planned operation.
Procedure
- Choose Operations.
- Choose Systems from the tabs.
- From the Operations dropdown for the instance or the managed system on which you want to perform the operation, choose the operation required.
Results
When you try to trigger the operation, SAP Landscape Management connects to the SAP Solution Manager system that is assigned to the managed system and checks its IT calendar. If your selected operation conflicts with the work mode that is assigned in the IT calendar, a warning message appears. You can ignore the warning and continue with the execution of your selected operation, or you can cancel the operation.
