Canceling Activities

You cancel an activity that is curently in status Canceling, Executing, Initial, On Hold, or Waiting.

Prerequisites

You have executed an operation on any required system.

You have permission Activity(Operate).

For more information, see Standard Permissions.
The activity that you want to cancel is in status Canceling, Executing, Initial, On Hold, or Waiting.

Choose Monitoring Activities.
Select the activity.

To select multiple activities, choose  Change the selection mode.

Choose one of the following options to cancel the activity:

Option	Description
Cancel	The status of the activity changes to or remains in status Canceling. The system waits for the activity steps that are being executed to come to a consistent end status. It then releases the lock on the respective instances and hosts when the activities are completed. The activity steps that are in status Initial are canceled immediately.
Cancel Hard	The system cancels activities in status Executing or On Hold immediately. It then releases the lock on the respective instances and hosts immediately. Operations that have already been triggered are left to be terminated as they cannot be canceled using the Cancel Hard button.

When all of the activity steps have finished, the status of the activity changes to Completed.
