Creating Custom Relations

To define and visualize static relationships between entities, you configure custom relations.

Prerequisites

  • You know the entity relations that are created automatically by SAP Landscape Management.

    For more information, see Entity Relations.

  • You have permission VirtualResource,Pool,Network,Characteristic(Configure).

    For more information, see Standard Permissions.

Context

The custom relation association defines any static connection between entities. You can define custom relations for the following entities:
  • Systems

  • Instances

  • Hosts

  • Virtual hosts

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathConfiguration Extensions Next navigation step Custom RelationsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. To configure a new custom relation type, choose Create.
  3. Enter the name for the custom relation.
  4. Optional: Enter a description for the source role.
  5. Optional: Enter a description for the target role.
  6. Optional: Enter a note to provide more information about how the custom relation is used.
  7. Select the source entity types required. You have the following options:
    • System
    • Instance
    • Host
    • Virtual Host
  8. Select the target entity types required. You have the following options:
    • System
    • Instance
    • Host
    • Virtual Host
  9. Choose Create Relation Type.
