Executing Custom Processes

You execute a custom process created on entities that fulfill the constraints defined for the custom process.

Prerequisites

For more information, see Standard Roles and Groups.

  • You have created a custom process.

For more information, see Creating Custom Processes.

  • You have the permission that has been specified while creating or editing the custom process.
    • SafeCustomProcess(Execute)

    • CustomProcess(Execute)

    • ForcedCustomProcess(Execute)

    • CriticalCustomProcess(Execute)

  • The custom process you want to execute is Released.

  • The entity on which you want to execute the custom process fulfills the constraints defined for the custom process.

    For more information, see Constraints.

Procedure

  1. Choose Operations.
  2. Choose either Systems or Hosts from the tabs.
  3. From the Operations dropdown of the entity that fulfills the constraints defined for the custom process, choose the custom process.

Executable entities are the source entities or entities which are resolved from the relation chain and meet the custom process constraints as well as the step's operation constraints.

All entities which do not meet the operation constraints are unresolved entities.

  4. Optional: To evaluate the custom process based on current operation parameters' values, choose Evaluate.

Information, warnings, or errors that come up while resolving the relation chain or while validating the step and custom process constraints are displayed in the pre-execution log.

  5. Choose Execute.
