Setting the Target Status for an Instance

You set the target status for individual instances. This allows you to easily change the instance status or a complete system status to its target status.

Prerequisites

Context

You can set the target status by applying a single or a mass operation to the current status of the instance or you can set the target status in the configuration of the instance.

In the operations view, you can group instances by their target statuses. This allows you to execute operations, such as starting all services with the target status “Running”. During a mass start, all instances with a target status other than “Running” are ignored.

Procedure

  1. Choose Operations.
  2. Choose Systems from the tabs.
  3. From the Operations dropdown of the instance, choose Start of the navigation pathOther Next navigation step Set Target StatusEnd of the navigation path.

To set the target status for multiple instances using a mass operation, choose Start of the navigation pathMass Operations Next navigation step Other Next navigation step Set Target StatusEnd of the navigation path and ensure that the entities on which you want to execute the operation are displayed and selected.

  4. Choose Execute.
