SAP Landscape Management 3.0, Enterprise Edition

Integrating Partner Virtualization Technology

You use this procedure to integrate SAP Landscape Management (through standardized interfaces) with a preconfigured virtual management solution provided by a technology partner.

Context

This integration improves the efficiency and availability of hosts and applications in your landscape. The virtual management solution consists of virtual hosts resulting from the logical separation of the host memory.

The virtual hosts are treated as independent hosts with a unique host name and IP address.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the virtual management solution in SAP Landscape Management to get the virtual host details.
  2. Configure the virtual hosts in SAP Landscape Management using the SAP Landscape Management host configuration.

For more information, see Adding Virtual Hosts.

  3. Work with the virtual hosts to perform operations such as activate, deactivate, suspend, and migrate on the virtual hosts.

For more information, see Virtual Element Operations.

  4. Optional: Create additional virtual hosts when you need to balance the work load, using the preconfigured templates provided by the technology partners.

For more information, see Provisioning Virtual Hosts.
