Exporting the Configuration Data

You export configuration information to provide a backup of the configuration settings in an XML file. This allows you to restore your configuration settings or move them from one SAP NetWeaver system to another.

Prerequisites

You have permission DataExport.

For more information, see Standard Permissions.

Procedure

Choose Setup Export, Import, Reset Export.

Note You can also export the configuration data by choosing the Export button on the respective pages.
Navigate through the workflow and ensure that configuration data you want to export is selected or else deselect.
To include encrypted user accounts, set a password for the export file.
Choose Generate Export File.

Results

The system generates an XML backup data file containing all configuration details. You can select the file name to view the details in a new browser window and save it in any preferred location.
