System Clone Template Steps

This section describes the template steps that are executed during the system clone process with SAP Landscape Management.

PROVISION

Provisions a new host. Used only in scenarios that provisioned host (VM based and storage based).

Activates and starts the host provisioned in the previous step. This step is used only in scenarios that provisioned host (VM based and storage based).

Waits for host to be available in the Virtualization Manager.This step is used only in scenarios that provisioned host (VM based and storage based).

AddResource

Adds newly provisioned host into SAP Landscape Management configuration. This step is used only in scenarios that provisioned host (VM based and storage based).

Unprepares a database instance. This step is used only for provisioning VM based systems.

Prepare Clone Volumes

Prepares volumes in the storage that will be used for new system after the cloning process is finished. This step is used only for provisioning storage based systems.

Mounts a directory for Oracle Redo logs. Applicable only for systems with database Oracle.

Clone Volumes With DB Backup Mode

Creates new volumes in storage that will be used for the new system after the system clone process is finished.

Post Clone Volumes

Checks if new volumes exist and exports paths for them in the storage system. This step is used only for provisioning storage based systems.

Clears cache of the operation system on the host.
