Creating SAP Adaptive Extensions Repositories on Windows

You want to store SAP Adaptive Extensions files in a repository on a central share.

Prerequisites

  • You have prepared the SAP Adaptive Extensions media.

    For more information, see Preparing SAP Adaptive Extensions Media.

  • You have installed the latest version of SAP Host Agent.

    For more information, see Configuring SAP Host Agent.

  • You have detected a host.

    For more information, see Adding Hosts.

  • The host detected is added to an existing pool.

    For more information, see Configuring Pools.

  • For each repository, you have created a volume or folder where you store the installation files.

  • You have mounted the volumes or folder on the target host.

  • The user of the storage host has at least read privileges on the share.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathInfrastructure Next navigation step RepositoriesEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Add Repository.
  3. Enter a name for the repository.
  4. Choose the host for the repository.

    By default, the host name is also used as the storage host name.

  5. Select the repository type SAP Adaptive Extensions.
  6. Optional: Choose the storage host name.
  7. Enter the user name.
    This user must have read permissions on the share and must exist on the following hosts:
    • Storage host

    • Repository host

    • Managed hosts using the repository

  8. Enter the password.

    This user/password combination is transferred to the managed hosts.

  9. Choose Next.
  10. In the Mount data step, select the share that contains the repository data.

    The system does not automatically scan for subdirectories.

  11. Save your entries.
  12. Optional: If your repository is configured within a subdirectory, proceed as follows:
    1. Edit the repository.
    2. Adjust the export path manually by adding the subdirectory path.
    3. Save your entries.
