Installing the License for ABAP Post-Copy Automation

You use task list SAP_INSTALL_PCAI_ENT to install the SAP Landscape Management enterprise edition license for using ABAP post-copy automation (PCA).

Prerequisites

  • You have implemented SAP Note 1999437 Information published on SAP site.

  • You have at least two work processes of type batch.

  • You have permission System(PCA).

Context

ABAP PCA is shipped with SAP NetWeaver packages and is deactivated by default. You use task list SAP_INSTALL_PCAI_ENT to install the add-on PCAI_ENT 1.0 before running a system copy on your production system.

Procedure

  1.     • If you have one of the following SAP NetWeaver releases, use SAR archive SAPK-100AGINPCAIENT:
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.0
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP2
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.3 EHP1
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.4
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.5
    • If you have one of the following SAP NetWeaver releases, use SAR archive SAPK-100BGINPCAIENT:
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.1
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.1 EHP1
      • SAP NetWeaver 7.3
  2. Extract the SAR archive to the directory that is assigned to the profile parameter DIR_TRANS. To find the extracted .PAT file, refer to the EPS/in directory.
  3. Choose Operations.
  4. Choose Systems from the tabs.
  5. From the Operations dropdown for the system where you want to install the license, choose Install ABAP PCA License.

    To install the license on multiple systems at once, choose Start of the navigation pathMass Operations Next navigation step System Next navigation step Install ABAP PCA LicenseEnd of the navigation path and ensure that the entities on which you want to execute the operation are displayed and selected.

  6. Optional: SAP Landscape Management checks if the host assigned to the instance meets the requirements of the instance. These requirements include RAM, SAPs, and so on. To ignore this host check, select the Ignore Host Check checkbox.
  7. Optional: SAP Landscape Management checks if intersystem dependencies are defined, and either performs the necessary action or prompts you to decide whether to proceed with the operation. To ignore any intersystem dependencies defined, select the Ignore Intersystem Dependencies checkbox.
  8. Optional: Select the Set Note checkbox and enter a note to be displayed in the Description column of the instance.
  9. Choose Execute.
