SAP Landscape Management 3.0, Enterprise Edition

Setting Up Validations for Landscape Entities

You set up validations for validating the host and instance configuration data that is actively acquired via the host and instance agents, respectively.

Context

The validation parameter differs for each of the entity types (instances, hosts, databases, and custom instances as instance subtypes, virtual host providers, and so on) in SAP Landscape Management.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathSetup Next navigation step ValidationsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Edit.
  3. On the General tab, set the basic parameters.
  4. On the Validation tab, expand the validation nodes in the Short Name column.
  5. Set the following for each of the parameters under each entity type, if required:

    Severity

Select the severity to be used when the validation check fails.

    Enable E-Mail Notification

To receive e-mail notifications for the validation results, select the checkbox.

  7. Optional: To define individually for which SAP instances or database instances a validation is executed, select constraints.
Per default, validations are executed for all SAP instances or database instances. Not all constraints are suitable for all validations such as the database type constraint for validations executed on SAP instances only.
The validation is executed for instances matching the selected constraints.
