SAP Landscape Management 3.0, Enterprise Edition

Assigning SAP Solution Manager Systems to Managed Systems

You assign an SAP Solution Manager system to another managed system in SAP Landscape Management.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathConfiguration Next navigation step SystemsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Select the system for which you want to assign an SAP Solution Manager system.
  3. On the System Details tab, choose Edit.
  4. Under the Basic Configuration step, select the required SAP Solution Manager system from the Assign Solution Manager System drop down list.
  5. Optional: Under the Mass Configuration step you can assign other managed systems to the SAP Solution Manager system.
  6. Save your entries.

After saving the changes to the managed system, validations run asynchronously. SAP Landscape Management checks if the managed system is registered in the SAP Solution Manager system and warns you in case of issues. SAP Landscape Management also verifies the version of the SAP Solution Manager system. If the version of the selected SAP Solution Manager is lower than 7.1 support package stack 10, a warning message appears and prompts you to enter the extended SIDs of the instances manually. If you do not enter the extended SIDs at this point, you can later assign it by editing the managed system configuration. To assign the extended SID manually, edit the instance properties and under Basic Configuration, enter the extended SID in the Extended ID field.

Results

You have assigned an SAP Solution Manager system to the managed system. When you perform an operation in SAP Landscape Management, SAP Landscape Management checks if that system has a work mode that contradicts with your planned operation.
