June 2020 Mobile Professional Edition Admin Summary

Release Note Summaries

This topic contains the admin summaries of the release notes for the SAP Concur mobile app functionality for the Professional Edition.
Android / iPhone / iPad – New Travel Allowance Without Overnight Option

With this release, mobile app users now have access to the new Without Overnight option while creating a Travel Allowances itinerary in the SAP Concur mobile app. This new option allows mobile users to create a new itinerary based on 24-hour intervals. The Without Overnight option is disabled by default.

EXAMPLE: A traveller starts a trip on Monday at 7 PM and returns on Tuesday at 9 AM. The traveller selects Without Overnight. Travel allowances are calculated based on 24-hour intervals, starting at 7 PM on Monday.

Enabling the Without Overnight toggle will hide the option to adjust the accommodation type of a daily allowance. If the Without Overnight option is subsequently disabled, the allowances will be recalculated based on calendar days. Also, the Accommodation Type field on the Daily Allowance page will appear again.

Android / iPhone / iPad – New Concur Drive Traffic Mode Option

With this release, SAP Concur mobile app users now have access to the new Traffic Mode option in Concur Drive. By enabling this option, the time allowance to terminate a trip - when detecting no movement - increases from 5 minutes (default) to 10 minutes. The Traffic Mode option is disabled by default and user selection is saved as part of the local profile settings. This option is available in the Drive Settings menu for both the User-Initiated and Scheduled modes.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This option provides more Drive tracking time for users who may encounter heavy traffic or need to make frequent short stops during their trips.

**Reminder** iPhone / iPad – Operating System Update

SAP Concur updates the minimum operating system regularly in order to ensure the best possible experience for mobile users. With this release, SAP Concur will update the minimum operating system to iOS 12.

The April release (9.80) is the final release for version 11 of the iPhone / iPad operating system.

Please ensure that the operating system on all user devices has been updated to at least iOS 12.

Be aware that users will not be forced to upgrade their device’s operating system, but users on older operating systems will not be able to install versions of the SAP Concur mobile app after v9.81.

**Ongoing** Android / iPhone / iPad – Direct Connect Content Access

On 31 March, 2020, SAP Concur mobile app users will have the ability to shop, book and cancel content from Hotel Service V2.

User / Customer Benefit: Travellers expect to be able to book travel on any device. After 31 March, travellers will be able to search, book and cancel Hotel Service V2-sourced hotels from within the SAP Concur mobile app.

Planned Change Summaries

The items in this section are summaries of the changes targeted for future releases. SAP Concur reserves the right to postpone implementation of – or completely remove – any enhancement/change mentioned here.

IMPORTANT: These Planned Changes may not be all of the upcoming enhancements and modifications that affect this SAP Concur product or service. The Planned Changes that apply to multiple SAP Concur products and/or services are in a consolidated document. Please review the additional Planned Changes admin summaries available in the June 2020 Shared Planned Changes Professional Edition Admin Summary.

**Planned Changes** Android / iPhone / iPad – Retirement of Mobile PIN

These changes are part of the SAP Concur solutions continued commitment to maintaining secure authentication.

Targeted for the November (9.86) Mobile release, SAP Concur solutions plans to retire the Mobile PIN sign-in option in the SAP Concur mobile app.

This change coincides with the redesign of the mobile sign-in page which will also be implemented with the November release.

Beginning with the November release, users will be able to switch back to the old sign-in page design and will be able to use the Mobile PIN sign-in option on that page. The option to switch between the old and new page designs will no longer be available beginning with the March (9.90) release.

With the retirement of the mobile PIN sign-in option, users will continue to be able to sign into the mobile app via the following methods:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO)

    • Mobile SSO

    • SAP Concur SAML v2 (SAML v2)

  • Username and password

  • E-mail address and password

For companies that have Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled for the web version of SAP Concur solutions, we recommend that they enable SSO on the SAP Concur mobile app, ideally migrating to SAML v2.

For information about migrating to SAML v2, refer to the SSO Service: Overview Guide (English Only) and the Shared: SSO Management Setup Guide (English Only).

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: The retirement of this feature better supports secure authentication by removing the less secure PIN option, simplifies the way users sign into the SAP Concur mobile app and makes the mobile sign-in experience more consistent with the web sign-in experience.

**Planned Changes** Android / iPhone / iPad – Redesign of the Sign In Page

Targeted for the November (9.86) Mobile release, the Mobile Sign In page will be redesigned and improved. The enhancements will improve the user experience, improve security and simplify configuration. It will also assist customers who use more than one Identity Provider (like OKTA or Azure) for Single Sign-On (SSO).

There will be additional changes, which will be described in future release notes.
