Concur Expense and Concur Request

In Concur Expense and Concur Request, the Budget Accrual Date field is available to be added to the expense and request entry forms in Forms and Fields. When this field is present on the form, the approver will have access to change the accrual date, which is the date used by Budget to determine the fiscal period during which the expense accrues to their applicable budgets.

Previously, when default values were copied down into the Budget Accrual Date field, the value in this field was replaced with the Transaction Date when the report or request was submitted. With this release, the copy-down behaviour is changed so that when default values are copied down to the Budget Accrual Date field the value is kept when the report or request is submitted. Only if the Budget Accrual Date is blank on submission will it be set to Transaction Date.

With this behaviour change, access rights have also changed. Previously, only users with the Approval role had access rights to make changes; other roles had no access of visibility to this field even if they were configured. Now, access rights for all roles are controlled by the configuration in Forms and Fields, which means that users with the Employee, Expense Processor or Expense Processor Manager roles will also have access rights by default depending on the forms/fields set-up.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This enhancement provides clients with more flexibility and control over who has access to this field and how it defaults, so they can control to which budget periods spend will be applied when using the Budget Accrual Date.

In a future release, the budget import user interface will be redesigned in Budget Configuration. The redesign will be useful for budget administrators who will be able to more clearly see import status and troubleshoot any issues.
