Date Range Budgets Now Available

SAP Concur has added the ability to create budgets based on a date range rather than a fiscal calendar.

The date range budget items allow the Budget Administrator to configure flexible budget items to support project-based budgets, which may not align with fiscal calendars, or personal budgets, which may align with an individual’s contract length, tenure dates or other date ranges.

Date range budget items are enabled on the Budget Settings page. Once the feature is enabled:

  • The Date Range option appears in the Period Type field on the Add Budget Item and Modify Budget Item pages.

  • When the admin selects Date Range for a budget item, the Start Date and End Date fields appear on the Add Budget Item and Modify Budget Item pages.

  • The Budget Item Import template displays the Start Date and End Date columns.

  • The Budget Dashboards page includes a date range filter.

  • The Budget Details page displays start and end dates for the budget periods.

  • The Spending Trend graph on the Budget Details page displays up to two years of information at a time.

If the feature is disabled after date range budgets are configured:

  • The existing date range budgets are still supported.

  • The admin cannot create new date range budget items manually or through the Budget Item import.

  • The Budget Item import template no longer displays the Start Date and End Date columns.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This feature provides more options for the Budget administrator when creating budgets.

Year-to-Date Spend Trend Graph Now Available

SAP Concur has added a new view, labelled All, to the Spending Trend graph on the Budget Details dashboard, displaying the current year-to-date spend for the budget for the current fiscal year. Clients who have configured monthly or quarterly budget periods will be able to view the year-to-date graph.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This feature provides a different way to view budget consumption for clients who use monthly or quarterly budget periods.

Updated Budget Detail View for Approvers

SAP Concur has updated the view of the budget that approvers see when they go to the budget details from the approval view. While the budget details view is open, it provides a breadcrumb menu to return to the invoice, claim or request. The view also provides more visual indicators to clarify how to navigate back to the approvals page.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This feature enhances the usability of the approver’s view of the budget details.

Filters Added to Budget Detail View

SAP Concur has updated the budget details view to include information on which expense types are included in the budget. The new Filters tab provides the SAP Concur product name and list of expense types per product that match the budget.

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: This feature provides read-only budget configuration information to the budget owner, budget approver/manager and budget viewer.

Planned Changes

The items in this section are targeted for future releases. Concur reserves the right to postpone implementation of – or completely remove – any enhancement/change mentioned here.

**Planned Changes** Personalised Concur Open

Concur Open is the SAP Concur service status dashboard, which displays known and widespread outages and incidents for select SAP Concur services and all data centres. Concur Open displays the current service status as well as incident history for the past 20 days.

In a future release, there will be new functionality added to Concur Open. Users can continue to access Concur Open and view Concur service availability; no functionality will be removed. However, with the release, SAP Concur users will be able to log in to Concur Open and:

  • View service status for the services and the data centre that are specific to their company

  • Access subscription options for updates about the incidents that affect the services specific to their company

  • View service history for the past two years as well as detailed root cause analysis information and the actions taken by SAP Concur for specific incidents

Business Purpose / Client Benefit: Customers use Concur Open to monitor their SAP Concur services outages, status and availability. Adding this new functionality will provide customers with a personalised view of their service status and availability. SAP Concur's goal is to provide a more accurate and transparent view of incidents/outages.
