Tasks

During the Project Implementation Phase (integration, development, test, validation) or during the Production Operation Phase, you manage the system parameters of the SAP CC Core Server systems in your SAP system landscape.

  • As an IT consultant, you determine the system configuration to take into account the business or technical requirements finalized at the beginning of the implementation phase. You plan necessary tuning and validation subphases to determine the optimal system configuration. You may configure a development or test system by your own.
  • As an IT administrator, you perform the system configuration defined by the IT consultants and the implementation project team. Depending on particular business or technical requirements, you may redefine the system configuration settings that relate to technical features.

Consider the following key tasks:

Identify and View Determine
  • Determine the parameter values that are necessary and relevant for your implementation and Customizing. They depend on your business and technical requirements and on the modeling results. See the SAP CC Configuration Guide.
Change Fine-Tune
  • Change a parameter value temporarily. For some system parameters, you can change the runtime value for a particular instance in the running SAP CC system.
  • Set up a system parameter or a list of parameters permanently. For some system parameters, you can also change the runtime value temporarily. For the other one, you can only change the restart value that is persistent.
  • Set up all the parameters that relate to a function in the SAP CC system. See the group classification and the SAP CC Config Tool user interface.
  • Fine-tune some parameter values to run the system optimally. You apply some recommendations, guidelines, or procedures to determine the best system configuration settings depending on your business and technical requirements. You validate, test, and confirm the changes.

Administration Utilities

The following user interfaces can be used to administer the SAP CC Core Server system in a development, a quality assurance, or a production SAP system landscape:

  • The Admin+ user interface can be used to set up a parameter with immediate change or delayed change (restart needed)
  • The Config Tool user interface can be used to set up a complete or partial list of system parameters (restart needed)
  • The Setup Tool user interface can be used to configure some particular technical functions (CIF, RIF, and notification policy) and business data (VAT rates, VAT rules, country tax policies, ...)
  • The Core Tool graphical user interface can be used to maintain master data (pricing catalog, customer master data) and some business data customized during the implementation phase (currencies, public hollidays)

Recommendation

For more information, refer to the SAP CC Configuration Guide and SAP CC Operations Guide.

Parameter Administration

Availability

The available parameters and indicators depend on the types of the instances of the SAP CC Core Server system: dispatcher, guider, rater, updater, bulkloader, or taxer. An overall map details all the parameters and indicators.

Access and Change

All the indicators are read-only (RO) access and computed by the SAP CC Core Server system. They can never be configured.
The parameters are read/write (R/W) access. You can change their values with Admin+ or Config Tool. Some immediate and temporary changes are possible.
