Function documentationSet Feature Lock and Posting Lock

If the central lock management Posting Lock Management (PLM) is not active, you can use this function to set posting locks and feature locks for accounts.

Integration

When the system processes master data changes to the account, the related release object and different authorization objects control the program flow. For more information, see Authorization Administration in Account Management. For the system settings and more information, see Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) by choosing:

  • Start of the navigation path Contract Management Next navigation step General Settings Next navigation step Release in the Contract End of the navigation path

  • Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Authorizations End of the navigation path

The processing steps for changes are independent of the channel because of the Business Data Toolset (BDT). The following channels are generally available for changing accounts. However, their availability is restricted for order-related changes:

    • SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

    • Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI)

    • Direct Input (DI)

Prerequisites

The following are the prerequisites for locking an account:

  • You have specified that the Set Feature Lock or Posting Lock feature is allowed for the account product upon which the account is based, and this feature is not locked.

  • Posting Lock Management (PLM) is not active.

  • If there are still changes for the account that still need to be released, you can only set the corresponding account lock if this is not subject to release.

  • There must be no changes in release for the feature or posting lock of the account. If there are, the system hides the corresponding entry fields for setting the account locks.
