Procedure documentationEditing Basic Data

On the Basic Data tab page you can edit and display basic account data in different group boxes. The settings below determine which data is available:

  • System settings in the product Customizing for Account Management

  • Editing mode (create, change, display)

  • Settings in the Business Data Toolset (BDT)

The Product and Account Identification group boxes display the account that you are currently editing, and the product upon which the account is based. When you create a new account, the system generates the external account ID according to the settings in the IMG activity Define External Account Identification. You cannot change the external account ID on the account.

The system also displays the ID key with which it generated the account ID. You can still change this ID key before the first time that you save the account contract. If you select another ID key, the system automatically generates another ID for the account.

In the Administration group box, you enter the purpose and the currency of the account contract. The system displays the current contract status of the account.

In the Notes group box, you edit the language-dependent notes for each editing area. You can, however, also enter the notes and display them in the account contract in the listed subareas such as posting control.

In the Additional Account Data group box, specify whether the account is managed for the account holder or on behalf of another person, for example, a notary client account.

In the Correspondence Request group box, you specify whether correspondence is to be output to an external correspondence tool for all changed account data using a Business Transaction Event (BTE).

Procedure

  1. Check the Product and Account Identification group boxes to ensure that you are editing the correct account and that your account is assigned to the correct product and product version.

  2. Enter data as required.

  3. When you edit the contract currency, note that this can only be changed according to the contract status and the Customizing settings for the external account identification.

  4. The Notes group box displays the first line of the note, whose country language is defaulted. The two indicators at the end of the line of text show if there is a longer text or a text in a different language.

To create a longer note, set the indicator in front of the editing area. Then choose Editor and enter the text.

To change the language of the notes, choose Other Languages.

To read the short or long overview of the notes, choose Short Overview or Long Overview.

  5. In the Correspondence Request group box, enter a correspondence printer. You can then specify the correspondence type.

  6. Save your entries.
