Ad Spec Unit that describes advertising areas and times in ad, online and commercial items.
Advertising areas and times are to be distinguished, produced and billed in ad, online and commercial orders.
Each ad spec has a data record in which an ad spec is described according to the item type.
You can determine ad, online and commercial orders using the ad spec data in
Central Access
.

Each ad spec has a number which is assigned by the system.
Ad specs of a particular item type are numbered consecutively in a sales document.
If you enter an item in a sales document, the system assigns an ad spec to this item by default. If no item of the same item type exists in this sales document, the ad spec created has ad spec number
one
.
If you copy an item in a sales document, the system assigns an ad spec to this item by default. If no item of the same item type exists in this sales document, the ad spec copied has ad spec number
two
.
The ad spec number is only unique in conjunction with the sales document number and the item type.
Example
Enter an order with an online item. The system assigns ad spec number
one
to this item.
If you enter an alternative ad spec for a schedule line in the online item, the system assigns ad spec number
two
to this schedule line.
If you enter an ad item for this order, the system assigns ad spec number
one
to this item.
Ad specs can be assigned to ad, online or commercial items.

Each ad spec has a status, which is determined by the system.

If the ad spec data is incomplete, the system sets the
Ad spec incomplete

Note
If you have selected the
Actual Size for Settlement
or
Actual Color Scheme for Settlement
indicators in the Customizing settings for the
Design Ad Type
, the actual size or the actual color scheme for the ad spec is used for pricing. The actual size or actual color scheme is returned to the ad spec in
Advertising
Management
(IS-M/AM)
by the technical system or the manual on-screen mark up check.
If the actual size or actual color scheme has not yet been returned to
IS-M/AM
, the
Ad Spec Incomplete
status characteristic is set in the ad item, and the size or color scheme entered in the order is used for pricing.
If you have not selected the
Actual Size for Settlement
or
Actual Color Scheme for Settlement
indicators in the Customizing settings for the
Design Ad Type
, the system always uses the size or color scheme entered in the order for pricing.
You can determine all ad specs with incomplete ad spec data in the order lists.
See also: Evaluation of Schedule Line or Ad Spec Status
If the ad spec status has reached status level
50
or
60
, you can no longer modify the ad spec data.
If an ad spec is assigned to several schedule lines and one of these schedule lines has reached status level
50
or
60
, you can no longer change the ad spec data even if the ad spec status has not yet reached status level
50
or
60
.
Sub ad specs belong to ad and online ad specs.
They are created to describe ad specs that consist of individual ad specs. Individual ad specs in panorama ads, linked ad specs, satellite ads, alternating banners or banner families can be represented in sub ad specs.

Ad spec masters belong to ad and online ad specs.
Ad spec masters are created if customers or agencies provide you with documents that are used to produce ad and online orders. Several ad spec masters can be managed simultaneously in an ad spec master.
