Sub Ad Spec

Definition

Ad spec that is assigned to an ad or online ad spec.

Use

To describe ad or online ad specs that consist of individual ad specs. These include panorama ads, multi-page ads, satellite ads, alternating banners or banner families.

Structure

Each sub ad spec has a data record.

Sub ad specs are described according to their item type in this data record.

Sub ad spec number

Each sub ad spec has a number that is assigned by the system.

Ad specs and sub ad specs are numbered consecutively in a sales document of a particular item type.

This number is only unique in conjunction with the sales document number and the item type.

Example Example

Enter an order with an ad item. The system assigns ad spec number One to this item.

If you create two sub ad specs for this ad spec, the first of these is number Two and the second is number Three.

If you create an alternate ad spec for a schedule line in the ad item, the system assigns ad spec number Four to this schedule line.

If you create an online item for this order, the system assigns ad spec number One to this item.

End of the example.

Sub ad spec status

Each sub ad spec has a status that is determined by the system.

If the sub ad spec data is incomplete, the system sets the Incomplete ad spec status characteristic in the sub ad spec status. If this status characteristic is set in the sub ad spec status, the system sets the following status characteristics in the item status according to the item type:

Item type

Status characteristic

AD

Ad spec incomplete, Technically incomplete, Billing incomplete

OL

None

If the sub ad spec data in ad items is incomplete, the system cannot determine the price and the sub ad spec cannot be produced. The ad order cannot be produced or billed.

If the sub ad spec status has reached status level 50 (Complete, released, partially processed) or 60 (Processing complete, no longer modifiable) , you can no longer modify the sub ad spec data.

Integration

A sub ad spec is assigned to an ad or online ad spec and is part of sub ad spec linking.

Sub ad specs can have ad spec masters.

Ad spec masters are created if customers or agencies provide you with documents that are used to produce ad or online ad specs. Several documents can be managed in a single ad spec master such as those for a panorama ad.
