Ad or online ad specs that consist of individual sub ad specs are to be created.
This can involve a multi-page ad that has three pages. The first two pages are 4C, are found on opposite sides of the page, have a gutter margin and bleed. The third page is black and white and corresponds to the type area.
You have made all the relevant settings in Customizing.
Basic principles for creating sub ad specs
You create sub ad specs for ad specs.
The procedure is as follows:
Sub ad specs and linked sub ad specs are created in the first step.
Sub ad spec data is created in the second step.
Creation of linked sub ad specs
When creating linked sub ad specs, you specify the type of sub ad spec linking involved and create a blank data record for each sub ad spec in the linked sub ad specs.
The system assigns a sub ad spec number and an item number to each data record.
The sub ad spec number identifies this sub ad spec and is only unique in conjunction with the sales document number and the item type.
See also: Sub Ad Spec
The item number describes the item for the sub ad spec in the linked sub ad specs.
The system uses the header ad spec as the reference ad spec during number assignment. The header ad spec is the ad spec to which sub ad specs are assigned. This ad spec has item number
Zero.
Sub ad specs are assigned item numbers according to the sequence in which they follow the header ad spec.
If you create a multi-page ad with three pages or a banner family with three banners, you create a header ad spec and assign two sub ad specs to this ad spec.
This ad spec has item number
Zero.
The sub ad spec that follows the header ad spec has item number
One.
The sub ad spec that follows the sub ad spec has item number
Two.
The system displays the number of ad specs in the linked sub ad specs and the item numbers for the ad specs on the

tab page for the ad spec and the respective sub ad spec. The system displays this type of multi-page ad or banner family as follows at ad spec level:

Enter sub ad spec data
The system creates a blank data record for each sub ad spec when you create linked sub ad specs.
The

tab page for each data record.
You must enter the following data to provide a complete description of the sub ad spec:
Item type |
Sub ad spec data |
AD |
Design, size and color scheme |
OL |
Format or banner area |
If you have not entered the sub ad spec data completely, the system sets the

status characteristic in the sub ad spec status. If this status characteristic is set in the sub ad spec status, the system also sets it in the item status for the ad item. The ad item cannot be produced or billed.

If sub ad specs with different sub ad spec data have been assigned to an ad spec, the system displays a placeholder (star) for all ad spec data that can no longer be described uniquely at item level on the
