Create an SAP HANA Flowgraph Task

Creating and executing an SAP HANA flowgraph task helps execute an SAP HANA flowgraph in an SAP HANA System.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a project.
  • You have created and activated at least one destination in the same project in which you are creating the SAP HANA flowgraph task.
  • The destination has a connection (connection type: SAP HANA SDI) to an SAP HANA system (system type: SAP HANA).

Context

SAP HANA flowgraph in SAP Data Hub helps you to transform data from a remote source into SAP HANA either in batch or real-time mode. The flowgraphs are predefined in the server and represents a complete data flow. User must select the required SAP HANA flowgraph, and all the operations that the flowgraph must perform is defined in the server.

Procedure

  1. Start the SAP Data Hub cockpit in a Web browser.
  2. In the System Status section, choose the Modeling tile.
The cockpit opens the SAP Data Hub Modeling tool in a new tab in the same browser window.
  3. Create task.
    1. In the navigation pane, right-click the project within which you want to create the task and choose Start of the navigation pathNew Next navigation step TaskEnd of the navigation path.
    2. In the Create Task dialog box, provide a name for the task.
    3. In the Type dropdown list, select SAP HANA Flowgraph.
    4. Choose Create.
The tool opens a new editor where you can define your task.
  4. Define the task.
    1. In the Destination value help list, select the required destination.
The tool populates the value help list with destinations that have connections to an SAP HANA system. The connection type is, SAP HANA SDI.
    2. In the Description text field, provide a description for the task.
    3. In the Hana Flowgraph value help list, select the required SAP HANA flowgraph.
  5. (Optional) Open the SAP HANA flowgraph in the SAP HANA system.

You can open the selected SAP HANA flowgraph in the SAP HANA system to view or modify the HANA flowgraph. If you want to open the SAP HANA flowgraph in the system in which it was created, then

    1. In the editor after selecting the HANA flowgraph, choose (Navigate to).
The tool opens the log on screen of SAP HANA system in a new tab.
    2. Enter the User Name and Password.
    3. Choose Log On.
You can now view or modify the SAP HANA flowgraph in the system in which it was created.
  6. (Optional) Edit variable values and table variables.
After you select an SAP HANA flowgraph, the tool displays the variables and table variables associated with the SAP HANA flowgraph.
    1. If you want to edit the default variable value, in the Variables section, choose , and provide the required variable value.
    2. If you want to edit the values for the table variables associated with the SAP HANA flowgraph, in the Type dropdown list, select a value type.
