Execute a Task Workflow (Direct Execution)

After creating a task workflow, execute the task workflow from within the SAP Data Hub Modeling tool.

Prerequisites

You have created and activated at least one task workflow.

Context

Direct execution of a task workflow enables you to perform an immediate and one time execution of the task workflow.

Procedure

  1. Start the SAP Data Hub cockpit in a Web browser.
  2. In the System Status section, choose the Modeling tile.
The cockpit opens the SAP Data Hub Modeling tool in a new tab in the same browser window.
  3. Execute the task workflow (direct execution).
    1. In the navigation pane, expand the project in which you have created the task workflow.
    2. Right-click the task workflow that you want to execute and choose the Execute menu option.
The tool opens a new editor for this task workflow in a different tab. Use this editor to monitor the status of the task workflow execution. The tool displays the status of each task on the task node, and the status of the task workflow on the task workflow node.
  4. (Optional) Abort task and task workflow execution.
If you want to abort the execution of any task in the task workflow,
    1. On the task node, choose .
    2. Select the Cancel Task menu option.
    3. In the editor toolbar, choose (Finished) to refresh and view change in the task workflow status.
    4. If you want to view the updated status of individual task in a task workflow, on the task node, choose (Trigger one of several options available) and select the Update Task menu option.
  5. (Optional) View error details.
If any of the task in the task workflow fails, then the tool displays the status of the overall task workflow as ERROR. In such cases, you can check for the errors and make the required changes to the task workflow.
    1. On the task node, choose (Show messages) to view logs associated with the task workflow execution.
  6. (Optional) Resume task workflow execution.

If a task status is not OK, you can modify it and reactivate the task and resume the task workflow execution.

    1. In the editor toolbar, choose (Resume Run) to resume the task workflow execution.
If the task and the task workflow executed successfully, then the tool displays the overall status of the task workflow as OK.
