Modeling Guide

Create a Project

Projects are containers for design-time objects in SAP Data Hub. You create SAP Data Hub objects such as destination, data sets, tasks, and task workflows within a project.

Context

After creating the required SAP Data Hub objects within a project, you can, for example, transport the project from one SAP Data Hub instance to another instance by exporting and importing the project.

Procedure

  1. Start the SAP Data Hub cockpit in a Web browser.
  2. In the System Status section, choose the Modeling tile.
The cockpit opens the SAP Data Hub Modeling tool in a new tab in the same browser window. Use this tool to create a project and to model SAP Data Hub objects such as destinations, data sets, tasks, and task workflows within the project.
  3. In the workspace toolbar, choose (Add).
  4. Choose the Create Project menu option.
  5. In the Create Project dialog box, provide a name for the project.
  6. (Optional) Create a project with destinations.
A destination is a reference to a connection that points to an actual system in the landscape. You create and activate a destination to receive and persist data from the system.
    1. Select Show more options checkbox.
    2. In the Select Connections dropdown list, select one or more required connections.
    3. If you want to modify the default name, choose the destination name and enter the required name.
    4. If you want to activate the destinations after creating them, select the Activate Destinations checkbox.
  7. Choose OK.
You can access the projects in the navigation pane.
