 Technical Objects

Definition

The assignments (to the minute) of technical objects (master equipment) to force elements (owners).

Use

To model the organizational assignment of large equipment, you can assign the relevant technical objects that are managed in the system as master equipment to their owner (force element ) . This allows you to carry out the following assignments:

  • Initial datafeed : New assignment without delimitation of an existing assignment

  • Change of Ownership : Delimitation of an existing assignment and creation of a new assignment (relocation)

  • Retirement : Delimitation of an existing assignment without creation of a new assignment

The owner, utilizer, and holder of a technical object can be different. The utilizer of a technical object is the force element whose storage location Start of the navigation path  is assigned the technical object (assignment chain: equipment Next navigation step serial number Next navigation step storage location Next navigation step force element). The utilizer assignment is therefore modeled using End of the navigation path Materials Management functions. The holder of a technical object is the system in which the change authorization for this object exists.

For more information, see Assigning Technical Objects and Relocation of Technical Objects .

Structure

Assignments to technical objects are displayed and edited from the perspective of the selected force element (owner) on the Technical Objects tab page in the Structures Workbench .

Note Note

A technical object can be assigned to only one force element at any one time.

The following relationship is provided in the standard system:

Technical Object Relationships

Relationship Desc.

Relationship

Object Types

Belongs to

A 820

O – EQ

O = force element, EQ = equipment (technical object)

These relationships for technical objects are stored in the tables of the FORCER framework .

To choose between the different relationship directions, you can choose Choose Relationship .

In the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Defense Forces and Public Security , you can define which relationships you want to display and edit by choosing Start of the navigation path Organizational Flexibility Next navigation step Structures Workbench Next navigation step Tab Pages Next navigation step Define Tab Pages for Command and Support Relationships End of the navigation path .

Note Note

You can also change the texts for naming the relationships . These texts override the names of the relationship directions.

Integration

  • Object Relationships

    • Large equipment that is mapped in the system as technical objects and assigned to force elements can be defined in parallel as the authorized materials of a force element by means of material planning objects .

In the case of materials (serial numbers) that are managed in maintenance as technical objects (master equipment), the system checks whether a corresponding assignment already exists between the technical object and the receiving force element when the authorized materials (material planning objects) are planned in detail and executed . If this is not the case, the goods issue is not posted.

    • For information about the assignments between force elements, technical objects (master equipment), positions, and work centers, see Assignments to Maintenance Objects .

  • Checks and Follow-Up Actions

    • When an assignment is changed, the system can check whether open documents exist for the technical object.

    • The system can check whether errors occurred during the assignment change and send a relevant message via a workflow .

    • The system can use a workflow to inform the owner concerned about the change of ownership.

    • As a result of assignment changes, the system can adjust the relevant cost center assignments .

  • User Interfaces

    • You can choose Alternative Equipment Views to call the report Assigned Master Equipment .

    • The assignment is also displayed from the perspective of the master equipment on the Op. Equipment tab page (transaction LMIE02).

    • Once you have selected a table entry, you can choose Status Board to navigate to the object display in the status board .
