 Assignments to Maintenance Objects

Use

You link the organizational objects force element and position to maintenance objects (master equipment and logistics work center) in order to control maintenance processes. In particular, you can use these relationships to:

  • Identify performing work centers

The performing work center defines which position (or person) is to perform the maintenance tasks in the operations for a maintenance order.

  • Identify responsible work centers

The responsible work center defines which organizational element (or subordinate objects) is responsible for ensuring that the maintenance tasks for a maintenance order are carried out by the performing work centers for the individual operations.

  • Forward notifications or orders

  • Relocate technical objects

Integration

The organizational objects force element and position are integrated in maintenance processes by assignments to master equipment (object type EQ) and logistics work centers (object type LA).

Features

The following functions are available:

  • Assignment between force element and master equipment (object type EQ)

You can assign technical objects managed as master equipment to a force element. The system displays the assignment in the Structures Workbench on the Technical Objects tab page.

  • Assignment between force element and responsible work center (object type LA)

You can assign a responsible work center (object type LA) to a force element. To do so, select the required work center in the application Create/Change Work Center (transaction IR01 or IR02) and choose HR Assignment to assign it to the organizational unit that forms the basis of the required force element.

    Note Note

Only one responsible work center should be assigned to a force element. The system can perform a check to verify this.

    End of the note.

  • Assignment between master equipment (EQ) and responsible work center (object type LA)

You can assign a responsible work center to a piece of master equipment. To do so, choose the required piece of equipment in the application Create Master Equipment/Change Master Equipment (transaction IE02), and on the Organization tab page, assign it a responsible work center.

  • Assignment between position and performing work center (object type LA) using HR work center (A)
