Configure Settings for Surgery Teams
You maintain employee data so that it is available for selection of the employee responsible
for documentation and for entering surgery teams
. You should create positions for all employees, who often participate in surgeries and create positions for the OUs of your OR area. Assign these employees to the positions. In this case, these employees appear in all employee-related input help functions (F4) within the surgery system.
Recommendation
To minimize the entry effort required, you can link employees to departments. For the surgery request or documentation, the user can enter the employee of the department as the EMR for all subordinate service facilities or in the surgery team.
The configuration of team entry for surgical teams corresponds to the Team Entry Configuration within the framework of service management.
Create the following master data and assignments:
Employee
Create the employees of your surgery area (e.g. anesthetists, surgical assistants, etc.) as business partners.
Positions
Define positions for organizational units and assign the employees to the positions.
See Position Master
Tasks:
Enter the required tasks that should be available to the user when entering the surgery team (for example, operating surgeon, assistant, relief person).
OU involvement
You can restrict the selection lists for the performing person to employees with a physician indicator or nurse indicator.
Furthermore, you can enhance the selection lists for the performing person (employee or external physician) in the clinical order or in the surgery request to include employees of other OUs.
Example
The anesthetists of a hospital belong to the Anesthesia OU. The Anesthesia OU is not an operating department. You enter a request for a surgery at CHIROP
for which an anesthetist is required. The selection list for the performing person in the request should also include all anesthetists of the Anesthesia OU.
Task proposal – Potential surgery team
You create the surgery team's tasks in the service master data of the orderable surgery services in the form of a task proposal. You can also enter task proposals for the anchor service. A supplementary procedure is used:
You define tasks which you entered for all operations, as a proposal in the anchor service.
You store special tasks in the individual services for surgeries which can be ordered.
Note
When the task proposal is implemented, the system will combine the proposals from the anchor service and from the requested services and sort them using the priority.
Qualifications
Define the qualifications which an employee needs, in connection with a surgery, in order to be able to perform a specific task. Qualifications represent the link between employees and tasks.
