Help for SAP Data Hub Cockpit

Create a System

Create a system, which is a stand-alone data source in the distributed data landscape. A system can belong to only one zone.

Context

You create a system in the SAP Data Hub cockpit.

Procedure

  1. In the Landscape Management page, click + to add a system.
  2. Enter the system ID and description, and select the system type.
The following system types are supported:

    System Type

    Operation

    Admin

Supports a connection to an email server so that an email notification task can be created.

    SAP HANA

Supports a connection to a REST service in a remote SAP HANA server.

The service supports browsing and execution of flow graphs.

    Requires callback authentication.

    SAP Vora

Refers to an agent that is deployed in a Hadoop distribution (Hortonworks or Cloudera) with SAP Vora installed.

Supports HDFS operations such as copy and delete file tasks.

Supports SPARK jobs and Data Pipelines graphs execution.

    Requires callback authentication.

    SAP BW

Supports connection to an SAP BW system.

Browsing and execution of BW processes in an SAP BW system.

Requires callback authentication using basic authentication credentials in the RFC Destination (transaction sm59) of the SAP BW system.

    SAP LT Replication Server

Supports connection to an SAP Landscape Transformation REST API.

  3. Select the appropriate information for the specified type.
  4. Specify whether an SSL connection is required for the system.
  5. To validate the callback authentication, click the Validate button.
  6. Click Add.
  7. To validate an existing SAP HANA or SAP Vora system, from the Edit System window, click the Validate button. Validation ensures that the connectivity between SAP Data Hub and the remote system is working correctly.

Results

For adapter-based and SAP BW systems, you can view the system connectivity status in the first column of the Landscape Management page.
