Monitor a Data Pipeline Execution

Use the monitoring dashboard within the SAP Data Hub cockpit to monitor the status of data pipelines executed in a particular connection.

Context

The monitoring dashboard for data pipeline execution provides information for understanding the status of data pipelines scheduled for execution. The information in the dashboard includes the following:
  • A pie chart that provides the summary of the data pipelines scheduled for execution. The sectors in the pie chart represent a data pipeline state.
  • Recently executed data pipelines
  • Currently running data pipeline

Procedure

  1. Start the SAP Data Hub cockpit in a Web browser.
You can access the monitoring dashboard in the Overview page of the cockpit.
  2. In the Service KPIs section, select the Task Workflows tile.
The tool opens the monitoring dashboard.
  3. In the Monitoring dashboard, choose the Data Pipeline tab.
In the Data Pipeline tab, the tool provides you information on the status of all data pipelines scheduled for execution in the SAP Data Hub Pipeline Modeler.
  4. Filter execution results based on time.
If you want to filter the execution results displayed in the dashboard based on time,
    1. In the dashboard header, choose the required period.
For example, you can choose Month to filter the results. The tool provides information on data pipelines executed in that particular month.
    2. If you want to filter and view results for a custom time range, in the dashboard header, choose Custom.
    3. In the Select Range dialog box, use the time ticker to select the start date and end date.
    4. Choose OK.
The tool filters the results and updates the information in the dashboard.
  5. In the Connection dropdown list, select the required connection.
The tool provides information on data pipelines executed in the selected connection.
  6. In the Summary tile, select a sector in the pie chart.
Each sector in the pie chart represents a state. The possible execution states are Pending, Running, Completed, Dead, and Unknown. If you have selected a sector in the pie chart, the tool opens the data pipeline editor where you can view and edit the filtered data pipeline logs.
  7. If you want a list view of all data pipelines executed in a connection, in the monitoring dashboard, choose View All.
The tool displays a list view of all data pipeline executions. The list view includes information on the connection, start date, and end date of execution, status, and more. You can use the column header to filter or sort the list based on the connection, data pipeline name, status, and start date and end date.
  8. If you want to abort the execution of a data pipeline, select the required data pipeline in the list view, and in the Action column, choose (Abort).
  9. If you want to filter and view logs based on the project name, date of data pipeline execution, data pipeline name, or data pipeline status, in the header, choose (Filter).
  10. If you want to view the graph of the data pipeline, click the respective link in the Name field.
The tool opens the data pipeline editor, where you can view the graph.
