
Industrial Hygiene and Safety Measures
Definition
Action, regulation, or other measure to prevent accidents at the workplace, avoid potential health hazards caused by the work environment, and make the workplace safer for employees.
Industrial hygiene and safety measures are divided into the following categories:

In the application we generally use the shorter form safety measure instead of industrial hygiene and safety measure. This also applies to the data structure.
Use

Safety Measure Category
Each safety measure is categorized from a logical point of view by the safety measure category.
In the standard system, safety measures of the category technical can be integrated into the SAP Plant Maintenance component. This means you can pass on technical safety measures as part of a notification to maintenance processing where they are known as tasks. For more information, see

Safety Measure Type
The safety measures in a safety measure category can be grouped into safety measure types. In Customizing for Industrial Hygiene and Safety under Specify Safety Measure Types you can set which safety measure types you want to use.
