Function documentation Status Editing for Industrial Hygiene and Safety Measures Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The status shows which stage of processing a safety measure (or task) is currently in.

Activities

1.       Assigning the initial status

When the safety measure is created the system assigns the status Task outstanding. This is the starting point for status processing.

2.       Processing the status

If the user feels that all necessary data has been entered for a safety measure in the status Task outstanding, the user can release the safety measure. The release is a formal release, that is the data can still be edited.

When editing of the safety measure is complete, the user can set the status Task completed. The user can then no longer edit the safety measure with the exception of the fields relevant for effectiveness checks.

3.       Transfer to Plant Maintenance

The user can also transfer safety measures with the status Task outstanding or Task released, for which the integration in Plant Maintenance process is possible, to maintenance processing as tasks.

In response to the transfer, the system sets the status to In process by PM. The safety measure can then only be displayed in Industrial Hygiene and Safety. The safety measure or task is then further processed in Plant Maintenance where it passes through a separate status network.

4.       Transfer back from Plant Maintenance

When the task or safety measure is transferred back, the system changes the status from In process by PM to:

-         Task completed if the task was completed in Plant Maintenance. The safety measure can then no longer be edited with the exception of the fields for effectiveness checks.

-         Deleted by PM if the task was deleted by Plant Maintenance. The safety measure can then no longer be edited with the exception of the fields for effectiveness checks.

-         Task outstanding if the whole industrial hygiene and safety notification was deleted by Plant Maintenance. The safety measure can then be edited again.

The statuses are assigned partly by the user and partly by the system. The following table shows which status transitions are possible.
