Agents are managed in the SAP EH&S specification database. In technical terms, this means agents are specifications of the specification category agent.

Use

You can enter any type of agent: from agents that have the nature of a substance to details on the working environment or activity.

Structure

Identification

An agent is identified uniquely by the agent type and the agent key.

Agent Data

The use of the SAP EH&S specification database means the full scope of functions of Structure link specification management is also available in Industrial Hygiene and Safety for entering and managing agent data.

For example, you enter the reference values of an agent using the property tree. Here, depending on the Customizing for the agent type, you edit either the standard property tree (default setting) or a property tree you define yourself.

Authorization Check

You can assign display and edit authorization both for agents and for property trees.

For property trees, you can fine-tune the authorizations at node level, that is you can assign separate display and edit authorizations for each node.

Integration

You can assign materials to an agent. The prerequisite for this is that you have made the necessary settings in Customizing for Industrial Hygiene and Safety under Specify Agent Types. The material assignment is evaluated, for example, when determining amounts or when creating a hazardous substance register.
