Work Area
Definition
Basic organizational unit in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
Work areas can defined from different perspectives. They can, for example, be defined in terms of processes, installations, task areas, or employee groups.
Use
The work area object allows you to build the organizational structure of your enterprise based on the requirements of industrial hygiene and safety. The work area is the central reference object for activities in industrial hygiene and safety, for example, performing site inspections and risk assessments.
Structure
A work area is characterized by the data groups header data and administration data:
Header Data
Contains the work area identification (ID). The ID can either be assigned by the user or by the system (from an internal number range interval).

With the entry language you specify in which language you are entering the data record. The SAP System requires this information for EH&S Native Language Support (EH&S NLS). EH&S NLS guarantees that data that is printed on reports is output correctly in all system languages. This classifies the work area within your enterprise, for example, as a company, a production system, or equipment.
