Gift Card Payment
Gift cards are a tender type.
Gift cards have a unique number for identification. This number can be read via the barcode or magnetic strip. Gift cards can be loaded with defined amounts of money. The gift card entitles the respective card owner to purchase goods for the amount credited on the card.
Each time the customer pays a receipt total by presenting a gift card, the corresponding amount is deducted from the amount credited on the gift card.
If the amount credited on the gift card is not sufficient for payment, the gift card is unloaded until its value reaches zero. After this, the program returns to payment mode. The remaining amount can then be paid using other tenders. A gift card to be redeemed can only be entered in payment mode.
