Purpose

The Maintenance area of the Defense Forces & Public Security (DFPS) component supports armed forces, police, and aid agencies in performing maintenance tasks in the domestic base, as well as with operations and exercises, and enables the consistent distribution of maintenance data in a multi-system landscape.

Implementation Considerations

You are familiar with the Plant Maintenance (PM) component and have made the necessary settings in Customizing.

Integration

The Maintenance functions are integrated with the functions of the Plant Maintenance (PM) component.

The Mobile Defense Solution , which is shipped separately, provides mobile applications for the maintenance area. These mobile applications provide the system support required to perform maintenance tasks on mobile devices (even if there is a temporary disruption to the permanent communications link with an SAP system).
